Speakers
Speakers: Windows to your music.
Speakers are the only components that actually produce sound, so buying a new set is the easiest way to upgrade your audio quality. The right speakers allow you to hear the strengths of the rest of your system.
Our audio heritage is invaluable when it comes to this decision. We have a line of speakers that have been selected for their superior value and performance, and we have enough choices to guarantee you'll find what you're looking and listening for.
Choosing speakers is a subjective adventure because no two people hear alike. That's why we're her to guide you through our various demonstration rooms until you find the speakers that sound just right and fit your musical taste, listening area and budget.
Ever notice how you get used to looking through your windows thinking they're clean until you wash them? And then, Wow! Everything is crystal clear. A similar thing happens with your music.
Though your current speakers sound OK, you'll be delighted at how good your music sounds through today's newest generation of speakers. Technology has evolved tremendously. Stunning clarity, thundering bass, and "front row" vocals are well within your budget. And your needs have probably changed since your last speaker purchase. For instance:
- You've added a CD player.

Get extension speakers for other rooms.
Fill your home with sound! Especially if you're busy, you may not have time to simply sit in one room and listen to music. No problem. We now have many economical options for enjoying your system's high-quality sound in other rooms. For example, kitchens are a favorite place to install remote speakers.
Are your current speakers still useable, but not exciting? Consider moving them to your bedroom, workshop, or office, then replacing them with a new, more satisfying pair in your main listening area.
Bigger isn't always better: Three space-saving ideas.
Recent developments in speakers offer you new options at prices below what you'd expect:
1. In-wall speakers are now available in high-performance versions. You can have beautiful music that is heard but not seen. These are easily wired into your existing system for more sound, or used as remote speakers in other rooms.
2. Subwoofers add deep bass, enhance imaging, and increase clarity and definition in the mid-range. A single subwoofer serves both channels and fits nearly anywhere in the room. Some are attractive enough to be small tables, others are intended to be hidden under or behind furniture.
3. Three-piece speaker systems combine a subwoofer with two compact speakers. The result is rich, full frequency music that needs less space and costs less money. The deeper bass and improved imaging make these systems the most popular trend in speakers. Come in and hear for yourself.
What to look for when shopping.
Accuracy, clarity and detail make music exciting. When comparing speakers, listen to a passage you know and like. Compare it between speakers. This is best done with the human voice, or an acoustic instrument such as a piano or guitar.
Imaging. Close your eyes. Can you hear a clear "picture" of the music and not just a left and right speaker? You should be able to visualize the width and depth of the original performance stage.
Sound level is critical. Always compare different speakers at the same volume. Listen at a lower volume, too. Do you still hear all the music?
Bigger isn't always better, so don't buy speakers by the pound. The design, quality of materials, and construction of a speaker are much more important that its size or the number of drivers in it.
Don't compare speakers for hours. Your ears will be fresh for the first fifteen minutes. After that, fatigue sets in and differences will be less apparent.
When it comes to buying speakers, there are a number of variables and recent innovations. Because we don't want you to be overwhelmed by all the possibilities, we help you translate technical specifications into sound qualities you can hear and appreciate.
1. Video shielded speakers. If your speakers are going to be close to a TV, you'll want this feature because it minimizes interference and distortion.
2. New and varied technologies. We carry the latest products, including di-polar and bi-polar. Our speakers come with different designs and materials, like cones, domes, horns, and panels. Our breadth of choice and the quality of our lines assures you of the finest components available.
3. As part of a Pro-Logic system. If you're buying for Home Theater, we'll ensure that all six speakers are compatible with each other and the rest of the entertainment center.
4. The right connections. Frequently overlooked audio/video cables significantly improve sound and picture quality. We'll make sure you have the right connections to let your system perform at it peak capability.
